![]() They'll begin to conquer themselves and convert land/other rulers. You'll really start seeing effects once you do this a few times with kingdoms/duchies in different areas of the map. They themselves somehow spread the religion far and wide. Partially because of the legacy points I want, but also because they act as the buffers you want. I think with the hotfixes a lot of the ridiculous conversion issues (like Kingdoms in Spain and Jerusalem) have been partially fixed, making the game less annoying. I think my original question went unnoticed among the 100's of threads after release. When I have non-de jure land outside my Empire that is FINALLY converted I will always grant the land independence. Thanks for bringing this thread back to life. It will fire if either of those conditions can be fulfilled. However, it converts both the religion to pagan and the culture to the realms culture. Also, both provinces must be in the same demesne or the same realm. ![]() You'll notice it greatly in Kingdoms, when a few decades after acquiring the new kingdom, 50%+ may already be spread. Converting to Paganism has double (12000 mo) the meantimetohappen and thus takes roughly twice as long to happen. I've found that they do a decent job spreading your religion in the newly-conquered land. Once the land is conquered/revoked, give it to a male dynasty member that shares your faith. ![]() Unlike CK2 I've found that same-religious realms very rarely decide to join in for county/duchy holy wars. Not sure how much help this was.Īnyway, best defense is a good offense. I've tried kidnapping/converting courtiers too. May your diety help you if you have any "christian land" too, enjoy a Crusade every 10 years! Probably my favorite thing about my past Africa run: No fucking crusades. ![]()
